A Writer's Blaahg Post New Entry

My New Site!

Here it first website. It wasn't as hard to build as I thought. I used and my sister-in-law's help. Without her I'd still be floundering around. This is also my very first blog. I never know what to say on these things, so bear with me while I find my proverbial tongue, and my gumption.

I'm not the sort of person who's good at marketing themselves. I tend to stay at home and write, so baring my soul doesn't come naturally, nor does pushing my stories. I have to say, though, that many people have read The Jada-Drau and I've yet to receive a negative comment. I suppose that says something. I really enjoyed writing it and, if you decide to purchase it, hope that you enjoy reading it.

I consider myself a storyteller more than an author. When I think 'author', I think long flowery prose with beautiful imagery and complicated, twisted plot lines. That's not me. I tell stories like the ones told around communal fires for centuries...but a lot longer. For years I thought I wasn't capable of writing a regular sized novel, or a 'short' short story. Then I actually wrote a flash piece - that's a story 1000 words or less. Then I wrote another, and another. Then, wonder of wonders! I wrote a novel and kept it under 100,000 words!

The Jada-Drau was originally 225,000 words long. MMP couldn't print a book that large so I cut it in two. The Jada-Drau is the first book and Tyrsa's Choice, due out in February 2012, is the second. I'm currently working on the third and final book, tentatively titled The Angry Sword.

There you go, a little bit of information and a little bit of baring the soul. Not bad for a first try I think. I think?

Thanks Grumpy, and, yes, I will put up 'the ghostly thing set in Sterling'....otherwise known as The Caringorm, first published in Whispering Spirits Digital Magazine.

Nicely done. Are you going to put that ghosty thing set in
Sterling up on your webpage? That is one of my favourite short stories of yours.
